Privacy Policy

abacicount is an operational digital twin and people counting platform developed by Abaci FZCO. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle data when customers use abacicount through edge devices, local systems, the cloud portal, and the abacicount mobile applications.

1. Data Processing Model

abacicount is designed to work primarily through on-site edge devices. In normal deployment, data can be processed locally within the customer's premises.

If the customer chooses to enable online access or cloud dashboard features, selected analytics and device data may be securely synchronised to abacicount servers using gRPC communication.

2. Data We May Collect

Depending on the deployment type, abacicount may collect or process:

User login and account details
Site, building, floor, and zone information
People count and occupancy analytics
Edge device status, health, and connectivity logs
System configuration and operational logs
A profile photo, if you choose one in the abacicount mobile app

abacicount does not collect personal identification data unless such features are specifically enabled or integrated as part of a customer-approved deployment.

3. Camera and Sensor Data

abacicount is mainly intended to process people count, occupancy, and analytics data. Raw camera video is not uploaded or stored on our cloud servers unless specifically configured and agreed with the customer.

4. Mobile Application

The abacicount mobile app signs in to the same customer account as the cloud portal. It shows the sites, occupancy, and reports that account is allowed to see.

If you set a profile photo, the app asks for access to your camera or photo library only to take or choose that photo. The app does not use the microphone, and it does not upload camera video from the phone.

5. Cloud Synchronisation

Cloud synchronisation is optional. When enabled, selected data is transmitted securely from the edge device to abacicount servers for dashboard access, reporting, analytics, and monitoring.

6. Data Ownership

The customer owns the site data, occupancy data, and analytics generated from their premises. Abaci FZCO only processes such data to provide, maintain, and improve the abacicount service.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect customer data, including secure communication, access control, and controlled system access.

We do not sell customer data. Data may only be shared with authorised service providers or partners when required to operate, support, or maintain the service, and only under appropriate confidentiality obligations.

9. Data Retention

Data is retained based on the customer's deployment, subscription, and agreed retention settings. Customers may request deletion or export of their data, subject to contractual and technical limitations.

10. Customer Responsibility

Customers are responsible for informing their users, visitors, or occupants about any people counting, occupancy monitoring, or analytics system installed at their premises, where required by applicable law.
